6 Surefire Signs That Filipina Likes You

You’re dating a girl from the Philippines but you want to be absolutely sure she’s into you. She’s got you hooked and you’ve been daydreaming about a future with her in it.

But like any well-meaning gentleman, you fear you might be overestimating her feelings for you. That’s only natural. Women are hard to read as it is. And being from another country, some things just have to be lost in translation.

It doesn’t help that you’ve been given advice from naysayers and concerned friends alike, mostly containing the words “scam,” “money,” and “golddigger.”

So here’s a disclaimer: If any woman, Filipino or otherwise, comes on to you too hard, then she may have ulterior motives. The same can be said for men, but they’re not the topic here. So be warned.

But if everything seems and feels right, then read on. If the Filipino woman you’re dating exhibits most or all of the following, you can put yourself at ease because she’s really into you.

1. She spends time with you.

This is perhaps one of the most telling signs that someone likes you. People often look for loud and grand signs to affirm someone’s affections for them, when in reality, it is in our most subtle and muted actions that we manifest endearment.

Whether it’s because we are all just too busy or are growing more antisocial by the minute, most people can’t be bothered to spend time with someone they don’t really care for.

She could choose to be anywhere else. She could be reading a book at home, or with her best friend having coffee and ice cream. But she’s with you.

Filipinos are conservative, and they gossip. She knows that if she’s seen with you at the mall, people will talk. And she’s okay with that. Because she likes it.

2.She enjoys having deep conversations with you.

Some Filipinas power through dates they don’t really care about, just to be polite. They’ll nod and act like they’re interested. But the lack of chemistry will be painfully obvious to you both.

When a Filipina likes you, you’ll usually find yourself lost in deep, endless conversations. And in the instances you don’t have anything to talk about, she’ll make something up just so you can talk. Remember, Filipinas are generally conservative, so she’s probably putting in the effort to converse.

Give her some credit. English might not be her strong suit. But even if it is, she wants to hear you talk. She values your opinions. And if she finds something to laugh about, then that’s a telling sign she’s into you.

3. She introduces you to her family.

Family is huge in the Philippines. As stated, Filipino women are traditional and conservative, which means they care a great deal about what their parents think and say.

Filipinas don’t just introduce any guy to their parents. They might be aware that she’s dating or is interested in a certain guy. But if she insists on introducing you, that to her is the next step.

It also means she’s actually proud of the guy she’s dating. So proud, in fact, that she has to let her parents know that she’s dating YOU. Take that as a serious sign that she’s emotionally invested in you.

4. She gets annoyed if you don’t contact her.

When you don’t message her for some time, be it a few hours or a couple of days, she can become really insecure, if not angry.

A lot of men don’t understand that women who like them need constant reassurance that you like them back. Filipinas are like this.

So if on your next date you sense she’s giving you an attitude or is giving you the cold shoulder for “no apparent reason,” it could be that you haven’t been giving her the TLC she needs.

So you do need to make it up to her. But rest assured, it’s a sign that she really likes you.

5. She talks about you.

Her friends know. Her office mates know. Her family knows. Why? Because she told them.

Filipinas have a special penchant for gossip. And when they have a good thing going in their life, they’ll want other people to know.

Now, don’t take this as an invasion of your privacy. If for some reason you’d rather keep your relationship a secret or discreet at best, then you can always tell her. But if that sort of thing doesn’t bother you at all, then don’t be surprised if you’ll be the talk of her circles. In fact, take that as an affirmation of her fondness for you.

And if you’re still in the dark about what she really thinks of you, then call a friend — her friend.

Getting along with a woman’s friends is just part of the dating culture in the Philippines. They’ll most likely know how she feels about you. And if they care for her, they’ll give you that much needed motivation.

6. She takes care of you.

Filipinas are, by nature, carers and nurturers. But do not think they hand out care indiscriminately. They reserve their concern and protectiveness for the people they love the most, like their family.

So if you notice that she starts sharing meals with you, wiping the sweat off your forehead, or taking her umbrella out to shade you from the sun, you have to know she won’t do that for just any guy.

Once You Know, Turn the Heat Up

Oftentimes, it’s easy to misinterpret a woman’s affection for you as her “just being nice” or “wanting something from you.” It’s even harder when that woman is from a conservative society with a culture you have yet to understand.

But look a bit closer, and you’ll see that if the girl you’re dating is showing the signs above, it’s because she genuinely cares for you and sees a future with you.

It isn’t enough to just “know” that she likes you. You have to ramp up your efforts as well. Give her the love and security she deserves. Who knows? Very soon, you could be making each other very, very happy.
