Frequently Asked Questions About Philippine Tours

Singles tours are a great experience, and more than a few result in loving relationships that last a lifetime. So making sure your tour experience is a great one, we provide many issues and questions that lend themselves to great results. This includes information about international dating, travel basics, what tour socials are about and how they are conducted, even issues having to do with electricity and how your devices will be affected.

What are the The Do's and Don'ts of International Dating ?

An international dating and tour service is not like your average dating service. Aside from the simple process of browsing profiles and matching characterizing preferences, international dating sites such as A Foreign Affair our parent Company for www.cebuwomen.com provide Philippine socials where single men can meet hundreds of beautiful single women.

Many men jump into international dating feet-first without doing the appropriate research. By exploring the available content online, you will be able to fully understand what is involved in international dating, besides the fun stuff. Even the romance, however, requires a bit of knowledge.

Like anything else you invest your time and money into, you will want to perform your best when international dating. In order to do that, you should know the basics about what you should do and what you should never do. Here, is an outline of the most common DOs and DON'Ts of international dating focused in The Setting of The Philippines!

Getting Started

DO: Do the research. The first step in the international dating process is usually exploring and joining a website. If you plan to get involved in international dating, be sure to explore and research your options thoroughly. Many companies and websites partake in fraudulent behavior and can cause major problems in your life. A high quality, legitimate website will have basic contact information in very easy-to- find locations, often on every page. You should always ignore a site that avoids posting its phone number, pricing, and address clearly. Transparency is key to a strong company, so avoid services that are unclear about their prices and contact information.

DO: Plan a tour. It's quite important to plan where you are interested in visiting. When a woman sees that you are planning on visiting her area on a specific date in the future, she will be more inclined to speak with you. Women want to meet MEN not gain multiple pen pals! Sign up for the tour to the City of your choice. Then Write! The woman will know you are coming to see HER! She will also know you are serious and you a not just another lonely guy that writes, and writes. but will never come see her. She will feel more confident that you will actually come to visit and have an opportunity to meet up in person.

DO: Decide on critical factors. When you are exploring the available profiles, constantly keep your critical factors in mind. Before joining a site, think long and hard about the critical factors that meet YOUR Criteria. For example, have your mind made up about your feelings on marriage, children Even if that twenty-two year old looks like a model, she might not want kids. If you do want kids, there is really no reason to communicate with her in the first place. This leads to another important point: honesty. When corresponding with women online, you may feel the urge to lie a bit about yourself. Although men think this will increase their chances of meeting someone they love, it actually hurts them. If you lie about yourself, you will attract women who you are not compatible with; that's a fact. You will be presenting yourself as a different kind of person and will therefore attract women who are not actually interested in you. This goes for anything you communicate about, from your feelings about love and relationships, to your opinions about movies and music, you should always give honest answers to questions and respond naturally. Also, best honest about your physical appearance. Send "true to life" photographs and explain how you really look; if your communication eventually leads to a meeting, she will find out the truth eventually.

DON'T: Do not join an international dating service without researching it first. Do your homework and research the company. What is there BBB Rating? How long have they been in business? Check consumer web sites that post complaints and rebuttals to those complaints. It is very easy for the Man who Failed to "Blame The Fraudulent Dating Company" and all those scammers because he was not successful. Usually they forget to mention that they were 70-80 years old and the 18-22 year old woman laughed at him when he wanted to get serious. Before joining a site, also look for red flags that may suggest fraudulent activity. An example of a red flag would include the company keeping their phone number and office address off of their website. Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Rating on the company. Due Diligence pay dividends.

DON'T:Do not reject an interesting woman because she does not speak English well. Yes, Filipina’s speak English. However, different accents, American slang, and the speed at which North Americans speak make it difficult for a Filipino from the province’s or even the city to follow our speech. Slow Down and be patient English is still a second language in the Philippines. Do understand in the Filipino Language; Cebuano and Tagalog, there is not gender reference for him or her. This is an example of a simple language issue that can cause misunderstandings.

DON'T: Do not have unrealistic expectations. Yes, Filipina’s respect and desire older men for their maturity, responsibility, security. Most women do not wish to marry a man older than her parent. When you join an introduction service, you will not necessarily meet the love of your life in the first week. If you discover someone interesting right off the bat, that's great, but don't limit your search there. Take advantage of all the dating opportunities available to you on your tour.

Communicating

DO: Remember that communication is key. If you do not communicate, you will never truly get to know somebody. Although we suggest keeping your options open to meet many different women on an international introduction tour, you should definitely get to know someone in a destination country where you plan to travel. By communicating consistently (without overdoing it!), your personalities, and preferences will arise andinteract. This way, you will get a feeling about whether or not there is chemistry between the two of you. You should attempt to communicate over the phone with someone if you have been messaging back and forth for a while. Getting to know their voice and the way they talk is important in understanding their manner and personality. Keep your options open and continue to browse around even if you meet someone you like. Expand and narrow your search, as you further understand what you like and dislike about the women you are meeting. The more you focus your search with honesty, the quicker you will find a compatible match for love.

DO: Give her time. Giving the women a lot of time to get to know you will enhance your chances of developing a strong relationship. Instead of pressuring a woman to like you, let her get to know you at her own pace. You can come off as desperate or even rude when pushing yourself into someone's life. If you really like someone, try and get to know them without seeming too desperate for their attention. If you take your time, you will seem confident but open to communication.

DO: Enjoy yourself. Having fun and exploring all of your options is a major part of international dating's beauty. The most important component to the whole process is having fun. If you aren't enjoying yourself as you browse and communicate, you might come off as a negative person when writing letters or talking over the phone. Don't forget that dating should be an enjoyable experience that makes you want to return

DON'T: Do not write obsessively to anyone. No matter whom they are or what they find interest in, they will be turned off by someone sending them five letters every day. If you think you are at risk of overdoing it, try and gauge your own actions by observing hers. If she waits a day or two to reply to your letter, wait a day or two to reply to hers. You essentially want to avoid scaring them away. Sending letters obsessively not only seems creepy to many women, but women will also see this as a sign of weakness or desperation. If you are interested in somebody, give it time! If she is truly the love of your life, she will not just disappear.

DON'T: Do not immediately dismiss a woman simply due to a difference in age. Even though a woman is older or younger than you does not mean she is not meant for you. Because people mature at different ages and grow with different experiences, a twenty-three year old woman might be perfect for a thirty-eight year old man. It all depends on the individual people within the situation. If you find yourself connecting with a beautiful young woman and your mind tells you it is inappropriate or not functional, ignore it! Any two people can be meant for each other; age should not be a factor in love unless it is over a thirty or forty year gap.

DON'T: Do not, for any reason, offer to send money to a woman you meet on a dating service. Until you have met in person and known them for a decent period of time, you have no reason to trust them. Because online dating provides such an easy way for people to create new identities, you may not know whom you are actually talking to. It could be some guy telling you what you want to hear in order to make you send money over for a "New Phone" or "Plane ticket" or a "Visa." Even if you really are talking to a beautiful woman, there is no reason you should trust her with your money. Again, DO NOT SEND OR GIVE AWAY YOUR MONEY FOR ANY REASON! This can seem like great way to make a girl like you, but it only brings a ton of risk into the equation and will make her like you for the wrong reasons.

* It should be noted that being a gentleman and understanding the Philippine economy is a necessary point to make. Do offer to pay a ladies travel expensed to or from a date. Depending on the hour and distance, a Taxi may be the only transportation available. A 200PHP taxi ride is about $4.00 USD at current exchange rate. However, the average income for a Filipina (Who is fortunate enough to be employed) is about 300-350 PHP ($6.00 USD) per day. Most women in the Philippines take Jeepneys, or Motorcycle Taxi that are very cheap under 25 PHP for a ride.

Traveling and Visiting

DO: Meet as many women as possible. If you plan to travel to another country on an introduction tour, be sure to keep your eyes and mind open. When you have the opportunity to meet hundreds of beautiful, intelligent women in one place, take it! Meeting tons of women and exploring your options will be the best way to find the love of your life. Some men choose to go on tours just to meet one woman, but that doesn't make sense because it will be a huge waste of time and money if they don't click. Meet as many women as you can on these tours, no matter what happens online.

DO: Be selfish. When you invest your time and money into enjoying an international introduction tour, you are investing those assets in order to gain love and happiness. Does it make sense to limit yourself? Absolutely not! You have the right to be selfish, and by that we mean be in tune with your desires and willingness to act upon them. If you see a woman you think is cute, go and talk to her! Don't feel obligated to hang around and keep anybody company; this is one of the greatest opportunities of your life to meet intelligent, beautiful women who are interested in meeting you. Ignore your social restraints and just get out there! You have nothing to lose, and chances are you will meet someone kind, attractive, and also ready to start a long-lasting relationship. Being selfish will help you find your best fit possible.

DO: Look for a common ground when you meet someone new. In order to spark a conversation, discover something you have in common. The common ground could be anything from your views on marriage to your favorite musician. No matter what it is, you will be able to more comfortably converse with the person about a subject you know a lot about. This will also work for her, making her feel more comfortable with the subject matter. Through a common interest, you can get to better know each other's mannerisms, opinions, and personalities.

DO: Keep an eye out for the little things. For example, one of the most important aspects of communication within a date is body language. If you notice your date playing with her hair, subtly touching your arm or leg, and leaning in towards you, you can be pretty confident that she is interested in you. If she is very reserved in her movements, staying back in her chair, keeping her arms crossed, and not smiling, she is probably not very interested. Remember that your own body language will affect things as well. Make sure you show interest with more than just your words by using your own form of body language. A Filipina who likes you will be touching you in public, on your second or third date. Walking hand in hand, arm around your waist something of this nature while crossing the street or walking in the mall. She is telling the "Other women, this one is Mine!"

DO: Have fun! Treat your Philippine Tour like a vacation in the company of several hundred women it couldn’t hurt. Many men find they are nervous and overwhelmed when entering this situation, but remember that it's just another opportunity. You have nothing to lose, and the women who attend are just as interested in meeting you as you are in meeting them. Instead of thinking too much, try to relax and just enjoy the social environment. Whether you are meeting one woman for a date or a bunch of women at a social, staying relaxed will help you to just be yourself. Listen carefully, ask questions, and feel free to express your true feelings. Think less about finding love and more about meeting new, interesting people. If you can just be yourself, you will present yourself accurately and will have a better chance of finding a compatible life-long partner.

DON'T: Do not ignore your gut feelings. On an international introduction tour, you will be introduced to hundreds of women who are looking for a relationship with an American guy like you. As you meet them, you will find characteristics about each that you will either like or dislike, but that doesn't mean they aren't right for you. If you meet someone and have a gut feeling that the chemistry works, don't just walk away because of some small detail you don't like. Just because a woman does not follow a certain career path or have certain interests does not mean she isn't the love of your life. On the contrary, having different interests will allow you and your partner to expand each other's horizons over time. In other words, a gut feeling can be more than just a feeling sometimes. If you find yourself drawn to someone, explore the possibilities! You will have nothing to lose.

DON'T: Do not let your date control the meeting arrangements. Because you are the one in the foreign country, you are the one at risk. If you end up in a situation where your date brings along a bunch of friends or meets you in a place where she is more comfortable than you, there is a risk that you may end up alone and unsure of your surroundings. If you take control and designate locations for your date, you will be comfortable knowing your location and where things will be going. As a citizen in her home country, your date should be more than happy to enjoy the locations you've chosen. She will also be impressed that you have the confidence to make those decisions in an unfamiliar place.

DON'T: Avoid performing an "interview" when you meet a new woman. Even though you are enjoying the trip in order to meet women, you should not live through the mindset that they are there to please you and fill your requirements. Although it's important to learn her views on critical factors like marriage, you don't need to force that information out of them. Instead of drilling them with questions, focus on getting involved in a comfortable conversation. You should attempt to court the woman, not push them for answers. Don't forget that you are attempting to spark interest; just because you know that all of these women are single and available doesn't mean you will be successful by simply performing interview after interview. Show the woman you are interested in her personality and allow the conversation to flow naturally. Only time will tell if you are a match.

DON'T: Never Brag about yourself. We all know that as men we are proud of our accomplishments. Down play them when introducing yourself at social events. Be "Vague" about what you do and what you own. "I work in a Dental Office" provides the information that you have a good job and are able to provide a home and stability to a woman that you might settle down with, she does NOT Need to know that you are the Dentist! Your finances and income are not something that needs to be discussed.

DON'T: Do not avoid one woman or another because of one certain detail. If you find a woman attractive and interesting, who cares if she is twenty years younger than you? "Chemistry" is an elusive thing, you cannot make it happen, and when it does, you cannot make it go away! If you are happy and she is happy, nothing else really matters. Choosing a partner will affect your life more than any other decision you will make. Don't limit your options with fixable problems.

DON'T: Do not take her on a shopping date. If you do, it will imply something about the relationship that you both probably want to avoid. You will be hurting yourself by either insulting a woman you are interested in or attracting a woman who is only interested in your money. No "Good Filipina" would ever ask you to buy her anything. Do not make the relationship about money.

DON'T: Avoid the "rescue" mentality when participating in a social. When you see a woman sitting all by herself but you aren't really attracted to her, do not feel obligated to go and talk. Remember to be "selfish" and only approach women who you think will be compatible with your personalities. You will have the opportunity to meet hundreds of women, so why limit your choices by approaching someone who won't be compatible?

DON'T: Do not judge. Simply observe. In order to get to know these women, you must take time to listen to them. Instead of immediately walking away once you find out something, you don't like, take the time to understand where they are coming from. Observe the type of person she is and don't push her to be who you want her to be. One of the best parts about dating is meeting people who are different. A lot of people limit their search to people who are just like them, but this is a major mistake. To grow and learn throughout life, we must explore other people's perspectives and opinions. With this in mind, focus on learning about who these women are and you will be able to better decipher who is truly compatible with you.

If you follow these basic "DOs and DON'Ts" of international dating, you too can fall in love with an intelligent, beautiful foreign woman. By filling your head with knowledge and patience, you will be one step closer to love.

The Basics of Travel Safety

1: When traveling to foreign countries it is a good idea to check the State department to see if there are any travel warnings for the country or the area that you are visiting. There you will find travel warnings and travel alerts, and you can even register with the State department so they can assist if there are any issues or problems Be assured if we feel there is any danger to our clients we would not be having the tours we offer.

2: Do not wear expensive watches or jewelry. You may even want to downgrade your cell phone and not carry laptops or other devices with you out in the open.

3: Do not flash large amounts of money, keep a low profile.

4: Do not get overly intoxicated. Intoxicated tourists make for easy targets. Also, women in the Philippines can marry an Alcoholic in their own country, why would they want a foreign one?

5: Try to stay in groups or even pairs with people that you know as much as possible. It is much more difficult to rob or harm a group than an individual. Group excursions with a date are offered to tour clients in Cebu and Davao, it is your option to avail you self and a date of those opportunities as a member of the group that participates. It is completely up to you and your date. A Filipina who likes you and is serious will not take you to anyplace where she feels you may be in danger or where she also feels uncomfortable.

6: Only used trusted transportation such as marked taxies, or people that you know and trust. Taxi’s in Cebu and Davao Philippines are being fitted with video and audio recorders inside the Taxi Cabs for your and the drivers safety. Avoid someone driving a Taxi with a "Broken Meter" making you a "Deal".

7: Be careful speaking to strangers, especially about politics or other touchy subjects. If someone approaches you that you do not know and attempts to get you to do something that involves you going somewhere with him, or her, or money, or anything that you are not comfortable with, just pretend like you do not understand them and walk away. Do not be shy about it, and if you feel threatened just start making noise and again walk away.

8: Act like you always know where you are and where you are going, even if you get lost. It can be intimidating to be lost in a foreign country, especially if you do not speak the language, but you do not want to appear like a lost tourist, so continue walking until you can get help from a store owner or police or someone that you can safely approach.

9: If you are traveling alone it is a good idea to check in with someone once a day just to let them know you are OK. That person should have your itinerary so if they do not hear from you they can start checking to see if you need help.

What Airline Would you Recommend?

Everyone has their preferences when traveling. However, we can and will recommend pitfalls and places to AVOID! Manila and Hong Kong airports have well documented issues. Other airports are less than accommodating to passengers with long layovers and or historically late flights due to airport congestion. Having long layovers is sometimes unavoidable. If you must have a layover we recommend; Inchon, South Korea as the airport has resting lounges, shower facilities, numerous restaurants, and a hotel in the airport.

Shopping for airline tickets can save you cash. The cheapest Ticket may not be the "Best Deal" from the North American continent you should be able to arrive in Cebu in 24-26 hours including layovers. The Great Deal of $500-700 round trip! Total travel time of 40-50 hours to get there. Not so good of a deal.

Also, Travel to Davao is more costly via International Airlines. Travel to Cebu and take a domestic flight to Davao is much cheaper. If necessary overnight in Cebu at Waterfront Airport Hotel across the street from Mactan- International Airport and take next 35-40 minute flight direct to Davao ($50.00-75.00 round trip depending on time of year) via Cebu-Pacific Airlines. Yes, Philippine Airlines also travels to Davao from Cebu but via Manila at a higher price and longer travel time.

*Remember travel to the Philippines from USA and Canada you lose a complete day. Depart on Tuesday to Arrive on Thursday. We recommend to recover from "Jet Lag" it is advisable to arrive a day early (Yes, it will cost for the extra day in the hotel.) in order to recover from the flight, and/or ensure if there is any missed flights or travel issues you will still arrive on time for the tour.

How many pieces of luggage may I take and what size?

You may take 2 pieces of luggage. Consisting of one checked bags, and one carry-on bag. We recommend that your carry-on bag contain one full change of dress clothing, your necessary toiletries and your computer or valuable camera items.

.62" total dimensions ( L + W + H ) with a total weight of 70 lbs.*

.45" total dimensions ( L + W + H ) with a total weight of 10 lbs.*

*Check with your airline for current baggage restrictions and fees. They are subject to change.

We have found that most of our clients are very comfortable with a budget of between $700 and $1,000. Some spend more than that and some will spend less, it really depends on your taste. Our host cities are all fairly large with attractions and outlets for a variety of tastes and income levels.

Are there other costs?

Other than normal spending money there will be very little in the way of expenses you will need to worry about. Optional Excursions for you and a date are available to you in both Davao and Cebu. Your package includes continued daily guidance and assistance from the AFA staff and your assigned "Buddy". You may have a very special request or need that could incur an additional cost. However, few of our clients encounter a need for this. Relatively minor additional expenses could include special transportation or gift services. Don't forget your tour package includes a very nice breakfast on a daily basis.

What paperwork will I need to travel?

You will need a passport which you can obtain locally. If you already possess a passport, please be sure there is at least 6 months remaining on it from when you plan to enter another country. Upon arrival in Cebu or Davao, your passport is stamped with a 29 day Philippine Visa. *Note you MUST HAVE a return ticket when you arrive at Philippine Customs and Immigration. Do I need additional health insurance?

You should check with you health care insurer and ask if your current policy will cover you outside the US. If not, you may want to purchase a rider policy to cover any emergency medical situations, which may occur.

How many guided tours are included?

The staff in Cebu or Davao are your Tour Guides, they provide one three to four hour guided tour, included in your Tour package. You will, have ample opportunity to take as many additional FREE guided tours as you would like. The women are very proud of their beautiful city and are more than happy to show you the sights. You will have no problems enjoying any sights that you would like to see with a truly beautiful, gracious and personal hostess! Other Group outings with a date are made available to you by the Cebu or Davao AFA Staff such as; Island Hopping, Alligator Farm, Bohol and Chocolate Hills and others. The participation in the offered group excursions with your date, are optional and they vary in price per person.

Where and how are the socials conducted?

Philippine Socials are unique compared to any other country. They are structured to ensure maximum client exposure and participation with the ladies that attend. Filipina’’s are generally shy and conservative. Social events have beauty contests, and games designed to breakdown the shyness that both men and women have. The games are innocent and fun like the paper game, eggplant game all to enable both the men and women to laugh and have fun while entering each other’s space. At the end of the evening your Assigned "Buddy" will give you your "Mail Box" a box of notes from women who wanted to meet you but were shy or unable to spend some time with you. The notes they leave tin your box are like "Valentines Cards" from the school parties. These are from women who attended and wanted to get more time and your attention. It is not uncommon to receive 30-70 notes from women that are interested in you! It happens again after the 2 nd social.

We conduct all our Socials in very large hotel banquet rooms or private entertainment complexes. All of our Socials are by invitation only, and are fully catered. including champagne and light music. We strive to create an environment where both the men and women will feel as comfortable as possible, while at the same time optimizing your chances of finding that someone special. You will meet between 200 and 300 women, depending on which tour you choose. In addition to the hundreds of women you will be meeting at our Socials, we also conduct New Applicant Interviews, Intimate Socials, and numerous one on one introductions in order to afford you every opportunity to meet as many women as possible.

Each Social will be attended by a totally different group of beautiful women. Please remember, the women are attending for one reason and one reason only, to meet you! They are not at all shy about the fact that they have not yet found what they are looking for, and they are prepared to leave the only life they have ever known in order to build a new life with the right man. We suggest you talk to as many women as possible. When you find a women you would like to see again simply ask her for her phone number so that you can make arrangements to meet with her later. Introductions are never a problem, simply let your staff "Buddy" know who you would like to meet and you will be introduced. Even though all of the women in the Philippines understand English, some do speak it slightly less than fluently. When you do discover the women you would like to see again, we will assist you in the arrangements necessary in order to get to know them better, whether it's obtaining tickets for the movies, or maybe a tour of the city, or a trip to one of the museums. One of the best ways to get to know one of the women better is to allow her to give you a guided tour of her extraordinary city.

What is the dress code for the Socials?

One tour member may wear a tux, another will wear a suit and tie, another blue jeans. However, we recommend dress pants and shirt as a minimum. We do however wish you to be comfortable and be yourself, so we will leave the final decision to you. Just keep in mind that this will be your only opportunity to make a good first impression. Philippine weather is tropical, 78-89 degrees Fahrenheit and generally 80-87% Humidity.

Should I bring photos?

It may be a good idea to bring along personal and regional photographs. Photographs of yourself, friends, family, pets, your recreational activities will certainly allow any viewer to have a much fuller understanding of who you are and what your particular geographic location affords for those residents living in the area. Photos of material things such as your home, cars, recreational vehicle, boats might make her like you for the wrong reasons.

What type of clothing will I need?

Be yourself and dress comfortably during most of your trip. Summer or winter attire may be jeans, shorts, and trousers. Summer and winter differ by about 8-10 degrees in the Philippines Most Filipina’s get cold if it is under 77 Deg F. An umbrella is always a good item to pack as well as it can rain in the Philippines even when not expected.

My schedule won't allow me to go for the full duration of the tour. Can I make special arrangements?

Yes! If you have decided that you would like to experience our tour we will work with you in any way that we can to make it happen for you. We believe that you will find the staff to be the most personable and hard working group available. We also act as the agent for many of our clients who wish to go to our host cities on their own making necessary arrangements, setting up meetings and often saving them money because of our travel agent status.

I do not live in the United States, however, I would still like to attend the tour, can I meet there?

Yes! We work with men from all around the world, not just in the United States. Regardless of where you live, you are responsible for making your own flight arrangements. All you have to do is let us know when your flight will be arriving and our representative will greet you at the airport and take you to the hotel, where you will meet the rest of the group.

What can I bring with me?

You are allowed to bring basically anything you like for personal use except illegal drugs and weapons. Video equipment, cameras, radios, even lap-top computers are Okay. It is recommended that those items be in your carry-on luggage.

What small gifts should I bring for the ladies?

Today you may purchase almost anything in our host cities that you could purchase in any other major city. Most of the women do not have the money to purchase the extras. Our advice might be to take advantage of any personal connections or good deals available to you. Something from your home country or state is a nice keepsake. Also chocolate is an extravagance as is fragrances most Filipina’s rarely indulge in. Usually a nice Bouquet of flowers purchased locally is a meaningful and romantic gift.

What about money?

Prior to departing to the Philippines make sure you have a "Travel Advisory" in place for your Credit/Debit Cards. Another option where you can send yourself cash in Peso’s (PHP) is set up a free Xoom (a PayPal service), or Remitly/ Western Union account. Then you may send yourself Peso’s (Up to $10,000 USD) and pick the money up at one of thousands of convenient location in the Philippines.

How much are calls to the US from the hotel?

It varies. If you do not have a calling plan with your phone carrier we recommend you use a Free Calling messaging / video chat service such as VIBER / FaceBook. Most hotels we use have good excellent Wi-Fi.

What about the electricity?

The electricity is 220 volts, 50 Hz AC. The sockets do require a Continental or European plug adapter with two round pins. American appliances need a 220V to 110V/100V converter.
